  • Although not a member of the army, Farquhar shows strong support for the confederacy
  • A confederate soldier informs Farquhar that tampering with the railroads result in execution
  • He goes to observe the soldiers.
  • The soldier turns out to be a union scout
  • Farquhar attempts to escape back to his house and gets caught.
