ABOUT ME

  • I was born into a free, wealthy, slave owning family, in Charleston, South Carolina, on February 20, 1805.
  • Later I began to realize how unfair slavery was and became an abolitionist.
  • So I moved to Philadelphia in the 1820's to get away from living in a slave-dependent home.
  • I was a Christian but converted to Quakerism when I moved to Philadelphia.
  • I believe slavery is against the Bible and God.

WHAT I BELIEVE ABOUT SLAVERY AND WOMENS RIGHTS

  • Slavery is against God and the Bible
  • All men and women should be treated equal
  • Black and white people should be treated equal
  • We are all children of God therefore we are all the same
  • It says in the Bible that men and women were created equal
