CURRENCY

The currency is the Lev

The country is mostly hilly and a little mountainous. There are some sandy beaches and steep cliffs. It is similar to the Midwest region in the US. There are cold winters and warm summers.

The population is about 7 million, and is mostly ethnic Bulgarian. Some other cultures include Turkish, Gypsy, and many other lesser backgrounds.

DAILY/FAMILY LIFE
Kids in the country play outside a lot, while kids in the city play inside more. The kids are a lot like American kids. School and good grades are a main responsibility, though.

SCHOOLING
Kids are required to go to school until age 16. Not all schools are free, some elementary schools cost fees. The country isn't poor, but they aren't rich either. They don't have a lot of new technology in Bulgaria.

SPORTS AND GAMES
Soccer is popular, as well as basketball and other common sports. Their volleyball team is one of the best in Europe.

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

  • Belog radchik fortress- an impressive and big castle.
  • Asenova fortress- an impressive and pretty castle.

Some famous people are Nina Dobrev, who is an actress, and Stanislav Ianevski who played Victor Krum in Harry Potter.
