HODGKIN'S DISEASE
HODGKINS DISEASE IS AN INFECTION IN THE IMMUNE SYSTEM CALLED THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM.

CAUSES
Although unknown fully to doctors, they think it is caused by a mutation to B cells.
The mutation tells the cells to keep making cells even though there shouldn't be any more.
The mutation also tells the cells to live longer than a healthy cell should be living.
The B cells that are now infected travel to the lymph system and push away the healthy cells.
After the healthy cells are gone the infected B cells take over the lymph system.

SYMPTOMS
Some symptoms include persistent fatigue
Fever and the chills
Night sweats
Unexplained weight loss.

LIFE CHANGES/EFFECTS
IF THE TUMORS ARENT STOPPED THEY CAN EVENTUALLY CAUSE DEATH.

Chemotherapy is where doctors use chemicals to kill the bad blood cells, the chemicals travel through the blood stream so they can go anywhere.

Radiation is where the doctors use high energy beams, such as x-Rays, to kill the bad cells, this is often used after chemotherapy.

Stem cell transplants are often used if the disease doesn't go away after chemotherapy and radiation, this is where doctors replace the bad bone marrow with good healthy marrow.
