WHAT IS A HOMINID

  • A hominid is basically an early form of human
  • They were not yet fully developed
  • They were actually developing primates
  • They hunted for food
  • They were developed because of the changing envirement

WHAT WAS THE STONE AGE

  • This is the earliest time known to man
  • This is when hominids came along
  • This is when primates started to make tools to make surfing easier
  • This period goes back up to 2.5 million years
  • Man and animals turned on each other in this period

WHAT WERE THE SIGNS AND CAUSES OF THE STONE AGE

  • The water temperature of the ocean was hotter
  • The climate had been changing for millions of years
  • Primates had begun attacking other animals ( not normal)
  • The Earth had begun gaining a lot more CO2

FUN FACTS ABOUT HOMINIDS

  • They often died for being unsuccessful in the hunt
  • They had a funeral-like ceremony when one died
  • They hunted together sort of like a pack of wolves
  • They taught their children how to swim before they learned to walk
  • Male hominids actually shaved with knives

  • Primates were already on earth when the Stone Age started
  • The evolution started over 1 million years before the Stone Age started
  • The bones of 20,000 year old skeleton were found in Africa
  • Over 30,000 years ago the humans developed a money system during the Stone Age
