EARLY LIFE

  • John Joseph Gotti jr
  • Born on October 27, 1940, in the South Bronx, New York,
  • Gotti was the fifth of 13 children
  • Gotti and his family moved around before settling in East New York, known at the time for its youth gang activity.
  • Gotti met Aniello Dellacroce, who became his life-long mentor.

  • Gotti soon became the leader of a gang called the Fulton-Rockaway boys
  • The gang was known for robberies and car-jack
  • At the age 14, Gottis toes were crushed as he tried to steal a cement mixer.
  • Dropped out of school at the age 16
  • the age of 18, the police department ranked Gotti as a low-level associate in the Fatico crew.

  • Between 1957 and 1961, Gotti pursued a life of crime on a full-time basis.
  • His arrest record included street fighting, public intoxication, and car theft.
  • By the age of 21 he was arrested 5 times
  • In 1968, Gotti served his first major sentence when the FBI charged he and his two accomplices

  • May of 1973 he committed his first murder the shooting of jimmy Mcbratney
  • Jimmy was a rival gang member who murdered a member of Gambino family
  • In 1974 after several bystanders identified him he was arrested
  • At this trial 3years later he cut a deal with the court

FAMILY

  • On March 6, 1962, Gotti married 17-year-old Victoria DiGiorgio.
  • Has 5 kids
  • One of his kids died in car accident
  • He was in jail twice by 1966

PRISON

  • Gotti was incarcerated at the U.S penitentiary at Marion Illinois
  • He spent most of his sentence in solitary confinement
  • His final appeal was rejected by the Supreme Court in 1994
  • While in prison he got beat up badly by Walter Johnson
  • Walter was transferred to another prison in safety of his life

JOHN GOTTI 'S DEATH

  • In 1998 Gotti was diagnosed with throat cancer
  • While the tumor was removed , the cancer came back 2years later
  • Gotti was transferred back to Springfield ,to spend the rest of his life
  • Gotti' cancer got worse and died on June 10,2002 at the age of 61
  • It is said that "he chocked on his own blood& he paid for his sins"
