  • one studies their behavior
  • and one studies their environment

WHAT IS A MARINE BIOLOGIST?
A marine biologist is a person who studies the life of plants and animals underwater.

work environment

  • varies from one day to the next
  • have labs where they can make observations
  • work a lot outdoors especially when called on rescue missions (oil spills)
  • get to travel a lot for these missions

what do they do?

  • identify, study, tag, and classify the plants and animals
  • write reports, and go teach about what they learned
  • review other reports
  • cultivate, breed, and grow animals like crab, clams lobster and fish
  • study the reactions of the marine life to parasites
