• Europe and North America
• Sprouts under carnifirous trees in sandy soil
• Grow in spring and early summer

CAN YOU EAT THEM?

• If eaten raw they will kill you in 3-5 days
• When cooked they can be edible but thats not always the case
• Main toxin is Monomethylhydrazine
• Toxin affects the liver, central nervous system, and kidneys
• Side effects include: vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, lethargy, and headaches

HOW TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN REAL MORELS

• Cap is more irregularly shaped looks squashed
• Cap is freely off stem, cap attaches to the top of stem
• If cut length wise inside is not hollow it as cottony fibers
• Looks like the sap bulges outward
• Cap is reddish brown
