• Common name is "the brain eating amoeba"
• Invade humans by swimming through the nose
• When they reach the brain they start chowing on brain cells
• Mainly affect young children

WHERE DO THEY THRIVE?

• Any body of fresh water
• Exist mainly in the Southeastern US
• Have been found in Europe and New Zealand

IS IT CURABLE?

• 99% Mortality rate
• Most recent survivor was a 12 year old girl from Arkansas
• Chlorine is a very good way to kill it
