Top 7 Tips for:
Keeping Safe in Cyberspace
2.
1. Never reveal personal information
Things like your address, phone number, and full name online
can put you in danger if someone accesses it.

3.
2. Photo sharing
Don't post any photos online that you wouldn't
want your whole school to see. Every image
can have a chain effect. Before you know it
one image could be viewed hundreds of times.
Even if you delete it, there could still be copies out there.

3. age restrictions
Always pay attention to age restrictions. They
are there for a reason. Websites like Facebook
have a restriction put in place because images
or language can be inappropriate for underage
users.

4. don't hide behind your computer screen
Never say something to a person online that you
wouldn't say to their face. Online comments or messages
are permanent and cyberbullying is a serious offence.

5. Friend requests
Always set your profile on private. Never accept
people you don't know. At first it seems pretty tame
to accept friends of friends, but soon you have hundreds
of people you've never met on your profile, viewing your
posts and pictures.
7.
6. don't do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable
If someone is asking you an invasive question that
you don't want to answer, don't. When someone
posts a picture of you you don't want online, ask them to
take it down. If you feel like a stranger is getting far too personal,
shut down your computer and tell someone you trust.

7. Not everyone is who they say they are
The 'hot' 13 year old boy from the school down the road
who wants your number, could be a 60 year old man who
contacts hundreds of vulnerable young people like you everyday.
If you don't know someone well in real life, don't let them get to know
YOU well online.
