PRESENTATION OUTLINE

WORDS I NEVER SAID BY:LUPE FIASCO

DREW STEWART

#1

  • I think this song is directed to anyone living in the United States
  • and who is against the war, violence and racism. It is also directed to
  • everyone who struggles with speaking their voice. This song shows people
  • that they can express their feelings like Lupe did in this song.

#2

  • This song is about the war in Afghanistan and how Lupe thinks "it's a poor excuse to use up all
  • your bullets". Racism is another one he talks about like in this verse when he says
  • "Murdering is not Islam, and you are not observant". This explains how America thinks
  • that all Muslims are terrorist and murders when most of them are not. He talks about corruption and
  • 9/11 being a inside job. He talks about the stupidity of a society like in the verse ->>>

#2 CONTINUED

  • "If you turn on TV, all you see's a bunch of what-the-f**ks, Dude is dating
  • so-and-so, blabbering about such an such". This explains how the news is talking about things
  • that are irrelevant to what is important. The songs message is to speak out and
  • To not be afraid because you can't regret the words you never said.

#3

  • This song was written because Lupe want to share his
  • feelings about the world and it's problems and the best
  • way he could do that was through a song, that he could share with
  • everyone and educate them about what the worlds really
  • like.

#4

  • This expresses many issues and opinions on events like when he talks about
  • 9/11."Nine eleven building seven did they really pull it? Uh, and a bunch
  • of other cover ups". This verse talks about how the government might have been responsible for
  • the 9/11 attacks and covered it up. "Your child's future was the first to go with the budget
  • cut". This verse explains the how the school system was the first to be cut in the budget cut.

#5

  • This song doesn't say do this or do that, but he says "Fear is such a weak
  • emotion that's why I despise it,We scared of almost everything
  • , afraid to even tell the truth". I think this verse tells us that we shouldn't be
  • scared to speak are opinions and what we think and to express
  • ourselves and not hide.

#6

  • This song mention two main countries the USA and
  • Afghanistan. The ethnicity this song talks about
  • is Muslim and the people of America. Two events this song
  • mentions are 9/11 and the the bombing of the Gaza Strip.

#7

  • In this song it is clear that Lupe is bias
  • towards war, racism and the government
  • from his point of view.

#8

  • This song his him mostly being anti, like anti
  • violence, and anti racism. Like I talked about in
  • my second slide he talks about the war having
  • no meaning or reason and also in my 2nd slide
  • I said that America thinks all muslims are terrorist

#9

  • I don't think the music itself affects the song,
  • but I think the tone of Lupes voice sounds
  • like he's mad and his ranting about his opinions.

#11

  • The first example of the message of the song is in the hook.
  • "As I drown in my regrets I can't take back the words I never said".
  • Another example is also in the hook. It's so loud inside my head
  • With words that I should have said . The last example is
  • I think that all the silence is worse than all the violence ->>

#11 CONTINUED

  • Fear is such a weak emotion, that's why I despise
  • We scared of almost everything, afraid to even tell the truth
  • So scared of what you think of me, I'm scared of even
  • telling you. All of these example tell us not to be afraid
  • To speak our opinions and not be afraid to be jugded.

#12

  • A action that lends to the meaning of the song is when
  • he says that he is "drowning" in his regrets of because
  • of not speaking his opinion which shows you that if you
  • don't speak out it will stick with you forever.

#13

  • This is a use a play on words when he
  • says "If you don’t become an actor you’ll never
  • be a factor". This is saying if you never
  • become famous in today's society no one
  • will listen to you.

#14

  • I think this song is negative and a rant because
  • for the whole song he goes on about whats wrong
  • with the world and doesn't talk about anything
  • good or positive going on in the world today.

#15

  • I think this song is very effective because it shows
  • that we have to wake up and not be afraid of what other
  • people think about your opinions. To just be you and to express
  • Yourself just like Lupe expressed his feelings about the
  • government, racism and violence in this song and if you don't you will regret it.

THE END THANK YOU!
