HISTORY

  • 1972 Europe- Rohypnol was first created by Hoffman-La Roche pharmaceuticals as a sleeping aid and anesthetic.
  • 1990s- Rohypnol gained recognition in the US as a club drug

(TYPICAL) USAGE

  • Human beings (usually men) slip Rohypnol into an unsuspecting persons drink
  • The drug kicks in, and the perpetrator escorts the victim to a more isolated location
  • The perpetrator sexually assaults his victim

  • Yes, it is possible and occurs accidentally.
  • When combined with alcohol or other drugs overdose is easier to achieve.
  • Overdose can lead to death especially when taken with alcohol or other drugs .

IS ROHYPNOL ADDICTIVE?

  • Yes, because it can lead to physical and psychological dependence.
  • Physical and psychological dependence can develop within a few weeks.
  • Addiction is very easy to achieve because of this.
  • But it is not a drug that people take to have fun.
