He came from a family of physicians.
Both his father and grandfather had served the holy Roman emperor.
He liked dissecting animals as a child.
His wife's name was Ann van Hamme.

ANDREAS VESALIUS'S DISCOVERIES
He dissected human bodies to see how they worked.
He wasn't the first one to do it but he was the first to record it.
He wrote a book called "On the fabric of the human body".
It was one of the most influential books about anatomy.

COPERNICUS
He is from German heritage.
His father died when he was 10 years old.
He had 1 brother and 2 sisters.
He didn't have a wife or any children.

COPERNICUS'S DISCOVERIES
He was one of the first scientists to discover that the Earth revolved around the Sun.
His idea wasn't completely correct but it set a strong foundation for future scientists.
He wrote a book called "On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres".
It's about how he established that the planets orbited the sun rather than the Earth.

He built a compass made for aiming cannon balls.
He built a telescope with 30x magnification.
