SIX SIMPLE MACHINES.

Pulley
A pulley has a grooved wheel with a rope running along the groove.
Ex: a flag pole is a pulley because you pull one rope down & the other rope pulls up to make the flag go up

WEDGE.
A wedge is used to split things, it has a thick & then end.
Ex: a ax is a wedge because it splits the wood in half.
4.
LEVER.
A lever is a simple machine that people use to gain a mechanical advantage by making work easier.
Ex: a teeter totter is a lever because when one side is down the other side is up and you push up to make it move up & down.
5.
SCREW.
A screw is an inclined plane wrapped around a cylinder that holds things together.
Ex: a bottle is a screw because on the top the bottle lip screws on to the top to keep the water inside the bottle.
6.
WHEEL & AXLE.
A wheel & axle is a wheel attached to a shaft, they roll & are found on a bike, cars, & doorknobs.
Ex: a bike is a wheel & axle because, the wheel on the bike is attached to a shaft to make it turn or stop.
7.
INCLINED PLANE.
An inclined plane has a sloping surface like a ramp.
Ex: a man puts a board on the back of the truck so he can lift the heavy box into the truck.
