  • A steel plow has two handles that lead to a steel blade and a pole sticking
  • Straight out, probably for attaching a horse.

WHAT DOES A STEEL PLOW DO?

  • A steel plow turns and cuts prairie roots, grass, and soil.

WHO INVENTED THE STEEL PLOW AND WHEN?

  • John Deere invented the steel plow in 1837.

HOW HAS THE STEEL PLOW CHANGED SOCIETY?

  • The farmers were having a hard time taming the prairie soil to grow
  • Their crops, so when the steel plow was invented, every farmer wanted one.
  • With the use of the steel plow, farming improved and people could feed
  • Families.
