A steel plow turns and cuts prairie roots, grass, and soil.

John Deere invented the steel plow in 1837.

HOW HAS THE STEEL PLOW CHANGED SOCIETY?
The farmers were having a hard time taming the prairie soil to grow
Their crops, so when the steel plow was invented, every farmer wanted one.
With the use of the steel plow, farming improved and people could feed
Families.
