PRESENTATION OUTLINE
TISSUES OF THE HUMAN BODY
This type of connective tissue is composed of cells floating in lacuna and a concentric circle matrix. They make up the bones of the skeletons, the framework of the human body. This tissue is extremely hard, allowing bones to take extreme punishment.
HYALINE CARTILAGE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
HYALINE CARTILAGE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
This type of connective is made of an abundant amount of collagen fibers hidden by a rubbery matrix and has a glassy blue-white appearance when looked under a microscope. The tissue is commonly located at the joints of bones and is extremely flexible.
FIBROCARTILAGE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
FIBROCARTILAGE CONNNECTIVE TISSUE
This connective tissue is made of cells and fibers, like most connective tissues. They are highly compressible and serve as a cushioning of sorts for the vertebrae of the spinal column, which is called intervertebral disks.
DENSE FIBROUS CONNECTIVE TISSUE
DENSE FIBROUS CONNECTIVE TISSUE
This type of tissue is characterized by collagen fibers with fibroblasts (fiber-producing cells). This tissue is very strong and rope-like and is used to make tendons, ligaments, and the lower layers of the skin.
AREOLAR CONNECTIVE TISSUE
AREOLAR CONNECTIVE TISSUE
This type of tissue is classified as loose due to the fact that the fibers aren't packed tightly. It serves as a cushion for body parts and is usually found around the organs of the body
ADIPOSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
ADIPOSE CONNECTIVE TISSUE
Adipose connective tissue is essential areolar tissue composed of fat cells. It is used as a cushioning and energy storage and is found around some organs, such as the kidneys, and around the body.
