THE 5 PILLARS OF BUDDHISM

  • Ideas-in this context does not mean simply a concept or a mental object
  • Practices-Spiritual practices have been important in Buddhism from the very beginning
  • Institution-an organization or establishment founded for a specific purpose, such as a hospital, church, company, or college
  • Experiment-an experiment is a test or investigation
  • Imagination-You should look for it in archetypes and ideals, and in poetry in the broadest sense of the term.

THE LINE OF ACTUAL CONTROL

demarcation line that separates Indian-ruled lands from Chinese-held territory.

Bhutan and Bhutan , the two smallest countries in the region, are both in the process of political transformation, from an absolute monarchy in one case and a state of one-party rule in the other. Both face the difficulties of sustaining plural.

Historically, sati is not unique to India. In the north Indian state of Rajasthan, it came to be associated with the people of the warrior Rajput caste, who viewed sati as the extreme expression of marital valor Although the practice of sati has been virtually non-existent elsewhere in India after the British banned it in 1829, about forty cases have taken place since Indias independence in 1947. Twenty-eight of these cases have occurred in Rajasthan, mainly around the Sikar district

Because the taliban are there and are getting many young men to join them so nearly every man there is part of the taliban and the taliban wants to take over much of that area and other countries dont agree with their ideas and the regime they will have if they did if the taliban came into power

During the last two decades, agricultural expansion, logging, development, and other human activities caused the deforestation of more than 120,000 square kilometers each year.

Combine that with fumes released from factories and cars and you have yourself air pollution that kills. Air pollution has caused 656,000 premature deaths in China and 527,000 deaths in India .

India’s huge and growing population is putting a severe strain on all of the country’s natural resources. Most water sources are contaminated by sewage and agricultural runoff.

The Ganges river has been considered a sacred river in Hinduism for thousands of years

Every morning thousands of Hindus, whether pilgrims or residents, make their way into the holy water of the Ganges. All of them face the rising sun with folded hands mumering prayers. Eck states:

As soon as the day begins, devout Hindus begin to give their offerings of flowers or food, throwing handfulls of grain or garlands of marigolds or pink lotuses into the Ganges. Others will float small oil lamps on its surface. Or as stated in "Banaras City of Light" by Diana L. Eck, "they may take up her water and put it back into the river as an offering to the ancestors and the gods" (Eck 212). In cupped hands they will also take the ritual drink of the Ganges and then fill a container to take with them to the temple. On great festivel occasions, Hindus ford the river in boats, shouting "Ganga Mata Ki Jai!" (Victory to Mother Ganga!)

Natural resources

The Western Ghats Mountain Range is very tall and blocks the moisture from the southwest monsoon from reaching the Deccan Plateau, so the region receives very little rainfall. forests are also relatively dry but serve to retain the rain to form streams that feed into rivers that flow into basins and then into the Bay of Bengal.

This gathering is well aware that rattans are the most important group of forest species after timber, especially in Asia. This Expert Consultation on Rattan Development has already discussed the nature of the resource, the versatility, importance, multiple uses and the ongoing national and international R&D activities to develop the resource. This consultation has been organized at an appropriate time when rattan, a multi-billion dollar commodity, is in short supply and a general decline has affected the growth of the industry. Southeast Asia is by far the largest producer and exporter of rattan and rattan products globally.
