The setting of Warriors Don't Cry is written in the early 1950s
The place of the setting was Little Rock Arkansas.

MAIN CHARACTER
Melba is the main character.
She is one of the nine black students integrating central high

Minnijean is another one of the nine.
She faces the same problems integrating as Melba.

Her grandmother was always there to keep her safe.
She would stay up all night by the window with a gun.
She kept Melba safe by making sure she was making the right decisions

Melba and eight other students volunteered to go to central high.

After the 9 students integrated they were beaten and treated like an outcast.
When students threw acid and food and much more at the kids.
The nine kids were also chased by mobs and almost killed many times.

In 1957 nine students decided to step up and make a change.
Nine students volunteered to go to an all white school to integrate it.

Abbey and I agree it was a good book because it was interesting.
We learned about integration and how hard it was.
We also learned how it's ok to take a stand and if you work it will happen.
