  • The place of the setting was Little Rock Arkansas.

MAIN CHARACTER

  • Melba is the main character.
  • She is one of the nine black students integrating central high

SUPPORTING CHARACTER

  • Minnijean is another one of the nine.
  • She faces the same problems integrating as Melba.

SUPPORTING CHARACTER

  • Her grandmother was always there to keep her safe.
  • She would stay up all night by the window with a gun.
  • She kept Melba safe by making sure she was making the right decisions

SUPPORTING CHARACTER

  • Melba's mother Louis was a major supporter.
  • She kept Melba safe on the first day of integration.
  • She also made sure Melba was making the right decision.

BRIEF SUMMARY

  • Warriors don't cry was a segregation book.
  • Nine students integrated an all white school.
  • The book describes the struggles the nine students faced.

CONFLICT

  • The major conflict in warriors don't cry was the attempt to integrate.
  • Melba and eight other students volunteered to go to central high.

  • After the 9 students integrated they were beaten and treated like an outcast.
  • When students threw acid and food and much more at the kids.
  • The nine kids were also chased by mobs and almost killed many times.

OPINIONS

  • Abbey and I agree it was a good book because it was interesting.
  • We learned about integration and how hard it was.
  • We also learned how it's ok to take a stand and if you work it will happen.
