  • The first vertebrate animals colonized land.
  • Life flourished in the seas
  • Trilobites were fading as fish became more diverse.
  • Referred to as The Age of Cockroaches.

DEVONIAN PERIOD

  • When plants first had roots and leaves.
  • Known as the Age of The Fish.
  • Fish reached large diversity.
  • Climate was warm and lacked glaciers.
  • From 417 to 354 million years ago.

DEVONIAN CONTINUED

  • characterized as a "greenhouse age".
  • broken into Early, Middle and Late subdivisions.
