  • Blue Nile and White Nile make the Nile River.
  • People in Egypt have only three seasons.
  • The Nile River is 4,160 miles long.
  • Egypt's seasons are, Peret, Shemu, and Akhet.
  • The Nile River helps farmers know when to plant crops.

SOCIETY

CLASS FACTS

  • Kings are the highest class in Egypt.
  • Enslaved people are the lowest class.
  • The higher the class is on the pyramid, the more that class is respected.
  • Merchants, craftsmen, and scribes, are in the middle.
  • Farmers, and unskilled workers, are almost as low as slaves.

PYRAMID FACTS

  • Used as tombs for dead kings.
  • To build a pyramid, they needed geometery, math, art, and engineering.
  • Was used as a way to show respect to the dead kings.
  • The kings chamber was located near the top.
  • Egyptians thought dead kings could take buried belongings with them.

  • Hieroglyphics are like the Egyptian alphabet.
  • They can even stand for noises.

  • Pharaoh means god, protector.
  • The pharaoh was the Egyptian king.
  • Hatshepsut was a pharaoh's daughter.
  • She thought she should be the next pharaoh.
  • Egyptians believed that only men should be pharaohs.
