• The middle and poor class want to get rid of the high class      
• The country was in debt after the Seven Year War 
• Unstable French Economy
• Rich people never paid taxes while the poor paid all the taxes
• King Louis XVI locks out the 3rd estate from the Estate General 

Results

• Representatives of the 3rd estate gather for the Tennis Court Oath 
• Opposition of the Monarchy
• Led to Anarchy on behalf of the Poor Class
• Suspends Monarchy
• Nobles lost everything they owned as well as their privalages 

INTERESTING Events

• Storming of the Bastille 
• Creation of the Declaration of Rights of Man
• Declaration gave everyone equal rights
• On January 21st, 1793; King Louis XVI is Executed

Post Revolution

• Reign of Terror took effect over France
• Meant that many executions were made during the Reign of Terror
• Napoleon Bonaparte comes to power 
• People constitute a Constitutional Monarchy
