HOW/WHY DO WE DREAM?

MY HYPOTHESIS

  • How we dream, our minds take things we have seen
  • or heard and "Dreams" or creates images.
  • Why, because even though our bodies are asleep
  • our minds are still very much awake.

HOW WE DREAM

  • Scientist say that most dreaming happens when we are
  • the most deeply asleep. When we are this asleep our
  • eyes move quickly under our eyelids. This is REM.
  • REM doesn't happen all night, so they aren't sure if we
  • dream only during REM or at other times.

WHY WE DREAM #1

  • Some think that dreaming is just a way for the
  • brain to sort through all of the information it gathered
  • through out the day.
  • That the brain just decides what to remember and what to forget,
  • some what like a file and shredder.

WHY WE DREAM #2

  • Others say that dreams are connected to our
  • emotions. Connecting our two "worlds"
  • And making our minds work and concentrate
  • on the important stuff.

WHY WE DREAM #3

  • Then there are the people who say dreaming
  • has nothing to do with anything.
  • That it is just random images that form.
  • That the brain is just trying to relax for the night.

WHY WE DREAM #4

  • Some say time gets slower, even though
  • it feels faster.
  • If there is something very stressful going
  • on in your life you may dream about it
  • specifically or vaguely.

MY CONCLUSION

  • We dream during REM; rapid eye movement.
  • Although scientists don't agree on why we dream,
  • I believe that our brain takes images from the day.
  • Puts them together, and we dream.
