  • M.O.M. (Mars Orbiter Mission) is the only space orbiter who can take clear color pictures of Mars.
  • M.O.M. is the second orbiter to reach Mars on its first attempt.
  • India's mission costs $74 million, 11% of N.A.S.A spending $672 million.
  • The mission is expected to last at least 6 months if not longer.

Achievements:
India has gotten a spacecraft into the orbit a of Mars. This is an achievement because ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organization) is the fourth organization to get into the orbit of Mars. This could mean more space attempts for ISRO, after this latest success.

Geography:
India is the first Asian country to have a successful Mars mission. This successful mission could not only have an effect on ISRO, but it could have an affect on all Asian Mars exploration.

The Mars orbiter is important news because with the technology the scientists can explore more of Mars. Also, scientists can find out if there our any living creatures on Mars. This news could help a man step foot on Mars. Recent Mars exploration could help discover the truth about the history of the red planet.

We think the impact will be positive because India is showing that they can be a leading nation for space research. Also, America and the world is happy for India and wants them to continue their work in space.
