THE LOUISIANA PURCHASE
The purchase from France costed the Americans 15 million dollars.
Since the French needed the money for wars they agreed for this trade to happen.
The purchase was made from 1803-1804, French owned this land from 1699-1762.
The trade was made under the Presidency of Thomas Jefferson.
Jefferson decided to make this trade to get the French from the New Orleans Port.

TEXAS ANNEXATION
Texas was owned by Mexico before we bought it out in 1845.
Americans declared Texas as the 28th state, Americans declared their
independence from Mexico in 1836.
The U.S. was afraid of going into war with Mexico causing poverty.
The Mexican government refused to acknowledge this fact and tried anyway.

OREGON COUNTRY
Americans and Britain agreed to share Oregon Country in 1818.
Pioneers took wagons and cattle cross-country to claim the land that was theirs.
Many people went to start new lives, or strike it rich trying to discover gold.
U.S. and Greta Britain agree to divide the Oregon Country into equal parts for both countries.
By the year of 1846 the U.S. owned the entire Oregon Country

MEXICAN CESSION
The Mexicans are mad in the year of 1848 because they think they still have a
claim on Texas. The Mexican Cession was created in result of Mexican War.
The Mexican War left the SouthWest in ruins, so the U.S. decided to try and
claim it, which resulted in Mexico beginning to get mad with the U.S. for taking "their land".
