PRESENTATION OUTLINE

MATH HUNT

ALL THESE IMAGES WERE TAKEN IN LUCCA, ITALY

TASK: FIND 5 MATHEMATICAL IMAGES

AND EXPLAIN IT IN 1 SENTENCE!

Untitled Slide

Parallel lines

I chose this because the barriers/gates are perfectly 'parallel'. This means that no matter how far they extend, they do not intersect with each other. I found this in the city of Lucca, on an old building.

Untitled Slide

Shape: Octagon

A octagon is an 8-sided polygon (a flat shape with straight sides). I found this stop sign in Lucca on the streets!

Untitled Slide

Sequence/ Pattern:

This image represents sequence.the continuous series of patterns that follow exactly the same way. I found this on the St. Martin Cathedral, located in Lucca.

Untitled Slide

360*: A shape (circle)

This was on a city bike , in Lucca. It shows that it is 360*, full circle with no angles. Radius is a line passing from a point of the circumference to the center. The diameter is the double of radius.
The circumference is calculated, by doing "radius x 6.28"

Untitled Slide

Semi-Circle: Arch

This is a Semi-Circle that us 180*, half a circle. It is formed by cutting a whole circle along a diameter line.
For calculating its area we have to do "(3.14 x radius^2) / 2"

Untitled Slide

Symmetry

This means it is made it is made up of exactly similar parts facing each other, so if you fold it, they would match perfectly together. This was a church we visited again in Lucca

🌸THANK YOU FOR LISTENING🌸

HOPE YOU LEARNED SOMETHING NEW!
