  • As a surgeon, you have to remove damaged, or anything causing harm to the body, out of the body. Like a tumor or blockage.

  • Surgeons make the decisions in the E.R and tell the Nurses and assistaints what they need to do to save the patient. They are the most important in some cases, but not always.

Surgeons work in hospitals all over America. They do their work in the O.R or Operating Room. There they are faced stressful tasks to save peoples lives.

I'm interested in being a surgeon because I want to save lives and they pay is very well. I've always loved the human body so I decided this would be the job.

Facts

  • Surgeons get payed anywhere from $100 to $400 thousand dollars a year depending on which type of surgeon.
  • Some surgeries last up to 40 hours!
  • There are many different surgeons, from foot to head. All surgeons have a purpose.

The school time spent to become a surgeon is about 13 or so years of training, med school, and learning.

There are MANY job openings in this field. In the next ten years, opening percentage should increase by 27%.

In Wisconsin alone, there are quite a lot of openings, but in say, San Francisco or New York, there are a lot more because they are bigger cities and have more surgeons in the hospitals. That would also mean it's harder to get a job at said hospitals.
