Five Tips for Success

From the wilson College Library

Don't be afraid to ask questions

Librarians are here to help
Personalized research help is available at all stages of the research process from searching for sources to creating citations. Help is provided in-person, via email, or through Zoom. Students can easily contact a member of the library staff by walking into the library, by emailing jsmlibrary@wilson.edu, or by using the Ask a Librarian form on the library's website, library.wilson.edu. Library resources, including library databases and how- to videos, can be found on the library's website as well as in Canvas.

Get Technology Help in the Library

The technology help desk is located on the ground floor of the library. Through the help desk, students can borrow laptops or webcams as well as get help with Office 365 and other academic tools. Canvas support is available 24/7 by using the Help button through the menu bar in Canvas courses.

Come Hang out at the library

We have the perfect space for all your needs
We have computers and printers, study rooms with flat-screen TVs designed for collaboration, comfy chairs and sofas, and a commuter lounge. We want the library to not just be a place you come, get what you need and leave. Instead we want it to be a place where you can come do a little studying, take a break, hang out with some friends, and then get back to studying.

Don't be limited by google

expand your search with library resources
Professors will expect students to use college-level sources in their assignments. The library provides access to databases and other resources that cover all majors and subject areas.

Start Your Research Early

so that you can take advantage of the Services we Provide
As students read through the syllabi for their classes, they will often see that research assignments are due at the end of the semester. It may seem like there is plenty of time; however, there are lots of steps to the research and writing process. It's important to get started early so that students can take advantage of the research and writing help that is available to them.
