Welcome!
-Please sit with your PLC Teams.

-Individually read/re-read the Ch 9 handout.

-Make notes in margins for discussion.

(10 minutes)

Discuss the following with your teams (3 min):
1. What does LMHS already have in common with the school in the story?

2. What aspects of the team described in the story should we be moving towards in becoming a high-functioning PLC school?

3.What fears do you have as we continue to move toward this goal?

  • What do we expect our students to learn?
  • How will we know that they are learning?
  • How will we respond when they don't learn?
  • What can we do next if they already know it?

  • We use common assessments for all unit and quarter tests.

1. Use data to drive planning, instruction & remediation.
2. Continue to work in teams to prioritize standards and develop scales and common assessments.
3. Attend professional development opportunities as needed for PLC team development.
4. Communicate team PD needs with the PLC Leadership team.

"Data Action Plan"
- Document found in leader folder
- At team meeting, complete the following:
1. How are we going to COLLECT our student data?
2. How are we going to INTERPRET the data?
3. How will we USE our data to guide instruction?
4. Do we need SPECIFIC TRAINING to help us accomplish any of these goals?
