Accelerated Reader

  • Students have been tested with STAR Reading to check their levels.
  • Retesting will be done quarterly. A print out of performance will be sent home in the Blue Folder.
  • Must maintain 85% passing grade and read 20 mins. everyday.

My Homework Policy

  • Homework is not graded.
  • HW will be checked as a class to make sure everyone understood the lesson.

Blackboard

  • Newsletter of HW for the week will be posted between Sunday and Monday.
  • Grades will be posted once tests/quizzes/classwork/projects have been graded.

Test/Quiz Retakes

  • At teacher’s discretion

Test Retake Procedure

  • Corrected tests/quizzes are sent home via blue folder.
  • The "retake form" must be submitted attached to the test/quiz on the day the blue folder is returned to school. This must be signed by a parent.
  • Student has up to ten days to retake test/quiz from the date the blue folder went home.
  • Absolutely NO retakes will be given two weeks before the end date of a given quarter/grading period.
  • Note: Retakes are NEVER the same test from the original.

Discipline

  • Reinforced by Class Dojo
  • Students will gain points to stress the positive and lose points for negative things

Class Dojo

  • Please download the app and create a parent account and a student account
  • Kindly donate prizes (incentives) of up to $15.00
  • i.e. gift cards, toys (no weapons), cute pencils, erasers, stationery, etc.
  • Pls refrain from "texting" me via Class Dojo. I will only respond to messages on official school email.

Parent/Visitor Policy

  • All visitors must sign in at the office to receive a pass before going to the class.
  • Visitors/Parents are not allowed to go directly to the class even if it is to drop off a lunchbox.

Boys Uniform

  • Pants: Navy with PAW logo on right hip
  • Shorts: Navy Bermuda with PAW logo on right hip
  • Knit: White with embroidered logo
  • Belt: black leather must be worn if pants/shorts have belt loops
  • Shirt must be tucked in

Absence/Tardy Policy

  • Parents please email teacher regarding absence whether it is anticipated or unanticipated.
  • A note must be turned in upon arriving to school if there was a sickness.
  • Tardy is marked after 7:50am. Students must go to the office to receive a late pass before going to the classroom.

Birthday Policy

  • Birthdays will be celebrated on the LAST Friday of every month.
  • Please come together to get creative in treats and send with your child in the morning.
  • Note: Gluten allergy in class.

  • Kindly donate some supplies for the rest of the year: Airwick essential oils refill (fresh water scent only please), Lysol Disinfecting wipes, Anti-bacterial hand soap, Kleenex tissue boxes

School Dismissal

  • Reminder: New procedure does NOT allow "walkers."
  • Only exception if you are walking directly home.
  • This is for your child's safety.

  • Anyone participating in classroom activities must be cleared of fingerprints from ADOM and Virtus.
