  • He was sent to get land, gold, and other precious metals
  • Was sent in 1534
  • In 1535 he led the first European expidition up the-

WHERE HE TRAVELED

  • Sailed on St. Lawrence River and what is now the Cap Rouge
  • Sailed to Mont Real
  • Searched for golds in Mont but found none and returned to St. Malo
  • Happened in year 1541

  • King Francis the first sent him
  • He wanted to find precious metals
