In the afternoon, we assisted the children during lesson time by helping the teacher teach the kids and helping them by correcting and contributed to improve their knowledge by speaking only French. We taught them odd and even numbers whilst drawing images to help them.
The kids seemed to enjoy our company and always seemed excited to hear we were going to stay with them for a while. This is also shown in the iMovie later where we interviewed them.
We both completed the obligatory amount of time (5hrs) but continued on because we felt as though we wanted to make sure that the kids learned a substantial amount of information, that they had fun and built a bond with us.
During our CAS project We did not only play with the children but we also learned something from them which is something that can only be learned through children. We learned how to engage in a conversation with children less academically developed than us. In addition we learned how to understand how they think and finally the quality time that we need to give to children for them, to truly build a bond with us.
