  • 6th planet from the sun
  • Second largest planet
  • It could be seen by a naked eye
  • 34 moons

PLUTO

  • The largest dwarf planet
  • Has five known moons
  • Named after the Greek god of underworld
  • Smaller with the number of moons

MARS

  • Named after the Roman God of war
  • Mars is the home to the tallest mountain in the solar system
  • Mountains name is Olympus Mons
  • Its a shield volcano

VENUS

  • Second planet from the Sun
  • Named after Roman Goddess of love and beauty
  • Often called the Earth's sister planet
  • It's known as morning star and evening star

SUN

  • The Sun is a Star
  • Center of our solar system
  • Almost a perfect sphere
  • Travels 220 kilometers per second

EARTH

  • Has powerful magnetic field
  • Only planet not named after a god
  • Out of all the planets the Earth has the greatest density
  • 3rd planet drom the sun

NEPTUNE

  • Takes 18 hrs. to fully rotate
  • Isn't a solid body
  • Very thin collection of rings
  • The rings are made up of ice particles
  • With dust grain and possibly carbon based substances

URANUS

  • Discovered by Sir Williams Hershel in 1781
  • Referred as an "ice giant"
  • The minimum temp. for the suface is -224*c
  • Covered by 2 thin sets of rings

JUPITOR

  • Fourth brightest object in the solar system
  • Unique cloud features
  • The Great Red Spot is a huge storm on Jupitor
  • Eight spacecrafts have visited Jupitor

MERCURY

  • 88 days is a year
  • 1 day is 176 Earth days
  • Second hottest planet
  • Named after the messenger to the gods
