OBEDIENCE TO THE FATHER
Three Types
of OBEDIENCE:
FEAR-BASED OBEDIENCE
FEAR-BASED OBEDIENCE
- the fear of suffering negative consequences
- This is biblical
DUTY-BASED OBEDIENCE
DUTY-BASED OBEDIENCE
- obedience that does not feel God’s presence
- God’s Word requires that we obey God
- we obey even when we don't feel inspired to do so
AFFECTION-BASED OBEDIENCE

AFFECTION-BASED OBEDIENCE
- flows from experiencing Father's affection for us
- then giving it back to Him
- It is the strongest kind of obedience
- results in the deepest and most consistent obedience
- A lovesick person endures anything for love
