CAUSES OF DISEASE
People get typhoid fever by drinking and eating infected objects.
A person with the illness sometimes contaminates food/water but it can also be caused by sewage.
Salmonella typhoid is the bacterium responsible for typhoid fever.

SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS
Fever not feeling good, and stomach pain are some symptoms that come early.
Symptoms that may occur are: constant fever, Brady cardia, diarrhea, and more.
Some ways to prevent getting it are: don't drink "dirty" water, eat hot food, and wash hands often.

EFFECTS OF THE DISEASE
The bacterium that causes typhoid fever is called Salmonell typhi
As a result of, typhoid your body could have kidney failure, peritonitis, intestinal holes, and sever bleeding.
Some less common outcomes are: phneumonia, myocarditis, and endocarditis.

MEDICAL ADVANCEMENTS
As time went on people came up with drugs that are one of the only things that can cure typhoid fever.
The drugs that can cure the disease are ampicillin, amoxicillin, and cirprofloxacin.
Another type of treatment is that some people drink clean water with electrolyte packets.

DEATH TOLL
Typhoid fever killed one third of the Athen people around 430-424 BC.
If typhoid fever goes untreated, it can kill 30% at most, of people infected.
During 2004-2005 there was an outbreak in the Dominican Republic in which there was 42,000 cases and 214 deaths.

PLACES THE DISEASE IS MOST COMMON
Typhoid fever is not common in the United States, Canada, Western Europe, Austailia, and Japan, but is common in other places.
Take precautions when traveling to a developing world.
In the last ten years, travelers native to the United States, Asia, Africa, and Latin America have been at risk.
