Massachusetts: John Winthrop

Connecticut: Thomas Hooker

New Hampshire: John Mason

They had icy winters that prevented a lot germs and kept them healthy. They also had plenty of rain for their crops in the summer.

For survival they fished, built ships and raised farm animals.

They traded sugar, wool and beef.

Who? Why?

Some of the colonist, like the pilgrims wanted to separate themselves from the Church of England. But some people, like the Puritans, still wanted to keep some of the ways of the Church of England. They just wanted the ability to "purify" others.
