JULY 22, 1816

• His first appointment was to the parish of La Valla.
• He prayed that God would bless his future.

• If he knew the family could not afford it, tuition was free.
• Marcellin and his community worked hard to support the school.
• Over the next 20 years Marcellin's recruits continued to increase in number.

JUNE 6, 1840

BY THE TIME HE DIED,

• the order had 48 establishments in France and 278 Brothers.
• Today there are 5,100 Brothers working in over 80 countries.
• From small beginings, Marcellin's dream has reached people in all continents.
