Early Life

She was born in Atchison,Kansas. She had a father named Edwin and a younger sister Muriel. She was the older sister. Amelia and her sister tried making a roller coaster. Their daddy worked on the railroad. After she finished high school she studied in Philadelphia. Amelia became a nurse at a hospital.

Jobs And Education
She wanted to help the soldiers in the war that are hurt. She went to Columbia University in New York City. She also went to Ogontz School in Pennsylvania.

Major Accomplishments

Amelia Earhart flew around the Atlantic Ocean in October of 1922. Amelia Earhart broke the women's altitude recorded by rising to 1400 feet. In June
1928, she was the first woman to fly across the Atlantic 20 hours and 40 minutes.
