CONNECTICUT COMPROMISE

  • An agreement that large and small states made.
  • They would he represented equally.
  • Representation would be based on population of each state
  • It satisfied small states
  • Was important for writting the constitution that it was called great compromise

THREE-FIFTHS COMPROMISE

  • An agreement that counted slaves as 3/5 a person for population.
  • Was made at constitution convention.
  • Before this compromise, Southern States were represented in Congress based on the size of their white population
  • It was forbidden to act on the slave trade for a period of at least 20 years

COMMERCE & SLAVE TRADE

  • Made at constitution convention.
  • Protects slave holders.
  • Congress had power to regulate foreign and interstate trade.
  • Congress forbidden power to tax the export goods from any statw
