LA FERIA DE ABRIL

What is La Feria De Abril?

La Feria de Abril or the festival of Seville includes parades, fairs, bullfighters, and flamenco dancers. During the festival the fairgrounds are usually covered in casetas or individual decorated tents. Many people will party in their caseta at night.

Who participates?

The people of Seville take part in the festival. Many travelers will also take part in it. The women wear trajes de flamenco or brightly colored flamenco dresses. The men wear traje corto or short jacket, tight trousers and boots.

WHEN IS THE FESTIVAL?

The Seville festival lasts 3 days and takes place around the end of April or two weeks after the Easter Holy Week.
It starts on Monday at midnight and ends on Sunday.

WHERE DOES IT TAKE PLACE?

The festival of Seville takes place in Seville, Spain outside.

WHY DO YOU CELEBRATE THE SEVILLE FAIR?

The festival of Seville was originally a livestock fair started by the two councillors Jóse Maria Yhurra and Narciso Bonaplato. The first fair was held on April 18, 1847. Overtime the fair has grown and become more festive. Today there are many fun things to do in the Seville Festival.
