It consists of 17,508 islands, about 6,000 of which are inhabited.
The largest are Java, Sumatra, Borneo,New Guinea, and Sulawesi.
Borneo is the third-largest island in the world and the largest island of Asia.
Its highest point is Mount Kinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia, with an elevation of 4,095 m (13,435 ft)
