What is sepsis?
The presence in tissues of harmful bacteria and their toxins, typically through infection of a wound

Symptoms:
Elevated heart rate (90 beats per minute at rest)
Body temperature: high(100.4) or low(96.8)

Sepsis can be frightening because it can lead to serious complications that affect the kidneys, lungs, brain, and hearing, and can even cause death.

It can effect:
infants under 3 months, whose immune systems haven't developed enough to fight off overwhelming infections,
