10 TIPS TO BRING GRATITUDE INTO THE CLASSROOM

Pass a gratitude stone around a class circle. Each person holding the stone shares a gratitude.

Keep a gratitude journal. Student planners make great places to record a daily gratitude

Go on a gratitude walk: write or draw what you are grateful for.

Express gratitude: we create a gratitude tree for a librarian and treats for elementary buddies.

Create a gratitude tree.

Write and deliver thank you cards.

Post it: Spread messages of gratitude around the school.

"THE BEST THING" GAME

  • Pick an animate or inanimate object (shoes, family, love)
  • Say "The best thing about ______ is" (insert object)
  • Each person says what is best about this object.
  • Eg: "The best thing about family is they love you.
  • Reading the "Important Book" is a great way to start this game.

Gratitude Jars: During the year, students place gratitudes in their jar. Gratitude jars go home at the end of the year.
