10 Things New College Athletes Should Know

1. Always know someone is watching

When you are playing a game, or if you are in practice, there is always someone who will be watching you. If you show a bad attitude during a game, a fan or a booster may see you and choose not to support you or your teammates anymore.

2. Keep a good diet

Always eat enough food. There is no reason to be hungry in the middle of your season. Always be full and hydrated.

3. have good relationships with your teammates

Your teammates are your 2nd family, and you should have fun with them.

4. Respect your coaches

Your coaches in college will help you out tremendously. You need to be a coachable player, and show them respect.

5. GEt sleep!

Getting a good night sleep, or getting a good nap will always help you feel refreshed and ready to go.

6. Keep good grades

You can not play the sport you want to if you have bad grades. Also good grades help coaches know that you are reliable.

Your sport is going to be a big part of your life, so you should make sure that you are enjoying it.

8. Stay Focused

You need to stay focused on your sport, and you need to cut out all distractions.

9. Always be on time

When I say on time, I mean at least 5 min early. You can never be too early for an event, but being late is never a good thing.

10. Balance your school and sports

You don't want a schedule that will leave you with no free time. You need to balance your school with your sports.
