• Stops these animals from eating our native birds.
• 1080 does not harm fish.
• Birds are increasing in numbers because 1080 is being used to kill their predators.
• Native trees and plants grow better because there are not so many possums around to eat them.

Black hat

• 1080 can kill other animals like dogs.
• 1080 could get into our water supply.
• Animals die in pain.
• Dead animals take awhile to rot away and so other animals might eat them and get poisoned as well.

red hat

• I think that 1080 is good because it helps save the native bush and native birds. It kills pests and increases breeding rates. It also helps the farmers keep their cows safe from TB.
