Fort Necessity-1750
During the Seven Years War, a 22 year old lieutenant colonel named George Washington begins construction of a makeshift Fort Necessity. The fort was built to defend his forces from French soldiers enraged by the murder of Joseph Coulon de Jumonville who was a French Canadian military officer.His death's was one of the sparks that ignited this long war. He was killed while in Washington's custody. One month later, the French, led by Jumonville's half brother, won Washington's surrender and forced confession to Jumonville's murder. The Fort was built to protect Washington and his army from the French. The outcome of this event was the French and Indian War.

The French and Indian War 1754
Also known as the Seven Years' marked another struggle between Britain and France. When France's expansion on the Ohio river valley brought conflict with the clams of British colonies. The French defended George Washington and other generals in 1754 and 1755. This war was the North American conflict that was part of a larger conflict between Great Britain and France. This war ended in 1763 with the Treaty Of Paris. This war provided Great Britain with territorial gains in North America. But, disputes over paying the war's expenses led to colonial discontent and ultimately to the American Revolution.
