  • The canadates were Andrew Jackson,
  • Henry clay, And John Q Adams.

THE DISRUPTED ELECTION

  • In the election Jackson won the popular vote
  • but no one of the canadates won the majority
  • of the votes so the house of representitives
  • had to pick the presidant.

ADAMS WINS

  • The House of Representatives chose Adams
  • as president over Jackson.

OUTRAGE

  • Jackson's followers were furious and
  • accused Adams of stealing the election
  • from Jackson. They fought for re-election
  • and once re-election started Jackson
  • easily won.

  • Congress didn't want Jackson as
  • president because they thought he
  • was dangerous.
