  • original name was Salvatore Luciana
  • he didn't know English
  • gained the name Lucky when he was kidnapped by a rival gang
  • Died January 26, 1962

  • born August 6, 1902
  • Born in New York
  • committed his first crime at 17 years old
  • very successful saloon owner
  • gunned down in a restuarant in Newark, on October 23, 1935.

INVENTIONS

  • The tommy gun patented by John T Thompson
  • John Larson invented the lie detector.

19TH AMENDMENT

  • Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote.
