Communists Topple Czechoslovakia
- Dem Eduard Benes returned from London after German occupation as the provisional president, with his right hand man Jan Masaryk.
- Communist leader, Klement Gottwald was made Prime Minister with 38% of the vote & the backing of Moscow.

- Free Elections were never held. US pressured Czech gov't, but offered little protection against Soviets.
- Gottwald led an uprising, shut down the press, and seized the gov't ministry.
