Greasers
Greasers were teenagers in the 1950's. They tried to base their look off of Elvis Presley or Chuck Berry. The teens were known as the hoods because the look was more common in the neighborhoods with higher crime rates.

A teenager might join a gang for many reasons. One reason is because they had a bad life at home which would make them want to leave. So joining a gang would allow them to leave home. Another reason is because they wanted to protect their neighborhoods, so they formed a gang.
