Greasers are kids that originated in the 1950s. Rock and roll was a big part of their culture. In the 1950s, 1960s, these teens were called "hoods." The name "greaser" came from their greased-back hairstyle, which was combing back hair using hair wax, hair gel, creams, tonics or pomade. Greasers were best known in the northeastern and southern United States.
